They are forged from high grade steel to hold their edge longer. The knife body from the tip of the blade to the end of the handle is manufactured from a single piece of metal. This leads to a feel of balance not felt with cheaper options.

The handles are made of a tough polymer and are held in place by three rivets. The Wusthof Fillet Knife is another knife that shows the classic Wusthof handle if you want to take a look.

Once the knife has been manufactured it goes through a hand sharpening to bring it to a razor sharp finish.
